US Air Force in 2028 will adopt 500 high-speed reconnaissance helicopters

FARA is a competition announced by the US Air Force to create combat helicopters of the future. The winning project will be

purchased by the military and will replace the Apache family of helicopters.

The army hopes to choose two successful applications, and by 2020 to get prototypes of winning projects. It is expected that 500 helicopters for the project of the final winner will be built by 2028.

Contracts with AVX Aicraft,Bell Helicopter, Boeing, Karem Aircraft and Sikosrky. At the moment, only AVX Aicraft and Bell Helicopter have publicly announced their plans to participate in the tender.

Earlier it was reported that Bell will build for the US Air Force a high-speed helicopter capable of accelerating to 205 knots.
