US Air Force may receive Australian Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat drones

Boeing believes its MQ-28 Ghost Bat drones could be suitable for the United States Air Force. This was reported by

company CEO Ted Colbert.

What is known

The MQ-28 Ghost Bat is being developed by an AustralianBoeing division in cooperation with the Royal Australian Air Force. It is Australia's first combat aircraft in over 50 years.

Ghost Bat is focused primarily oncollaboration with the Lockheed Matin F-35 Lightning II fighter. However, the drone will be able to operate with other aircraft, including the F/A-18 Super Hornet, E-7A AEW&C and KC-30A MRTT, or on its own.

The MQ-28 Ghost Bat will have a range of 3,700 km.The unmanned aerial vehicle will be able to take on enemy fire, strike at enemy positions, and carry out reconnaissance, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

Boeing has developed two UAVs so far. In 2021, the MQ-28 Ghost made its first flight. Combat samples will appear in 2024-2025.
