It became known that the United States issued licenses to suppliers of the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei and
Reuters learned that 113 export licenses worth $61 billion were issued to supply goods to Huawei and 188 licenses worth $42 billion to supply goods to SMIC.As for Huawei, 69% of all applications were approved for suppliers, butfor SMIC, 9 out of 10.
Not everyone in the U.S. government was happy with the decision.
We will remind, in May 2019, Huawei got intoThe "black" list of the US Department of Commerce. Later, in December 2020, restrictions were imposed on SMIC. The US said these companies pose a threat to national security.
