US approves €3 billion sale of Israel's Arrow-3 anti-missile system to Germany

month, the deal was approved by the United States.

What is known

Arrow-3 is an anti-missile systemIsraeli company Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI). The American concern Boeing took part in the development, and therefore the deal must be approved by the United States.

The Israeli system is designed to destroy ballistic missiles at an altitude of more than 100 km. Arrow-3 is considered one of the most advanced Israeli air defense systems.

Sale of anti-missile complex in Germanywill be the biggest deal for the Israeli defense industry. The contract will cost €3 billion. At the same time, Washington requires that half of the production be carried out in the United States.

Head of the German Air ForceLieutenant General Ingo Gerhartz said that Arrow-3 is the most suitable option to counter the threats facing the country. The complex will allow intercepting ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere, and for other purposes, Germany already has weapons systems, including the Patriot.
