The US government is investigating the situation with the SpaceX spacecraft. It has been revealed that the rockets were broken during the launch.
At the moment, the Federal AdministrationThe Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has banned SpaceX from conducting any further launches until the agency completes an "accident investigation" into the April 20 Starship test launch. The massive rocket's flight began with the launch pad colliding and ended when the giant rocket exploded in mid-air about four minutes later.
Dust and debris are reportedThe tests hit residents of Port Isabel, Texas, a town about 10 miles from the launch site, and on the beaches of Boca Chica, which are nesting grounds for endangered animals including birds and sea turtles.
Dave Cortez, Director of the Defense Group's DivisionThe Sierra Club's environmental watchdog said Port Isabel residents reported broken windows at businesses and ash-like particles covering homes and schools.
The force of the rocket engines punched a holeon the launch pad and created a crater underneath it. "Concrete was blown out into the ocean," Cortes told CNBC. "The debris is at risk of hitting the fuel storage tanks, which are bunkers adjacent to the launch pad."
