The drone is being developed as part of the No.Manning Required Ship, which was organized by the US Department of Defense Advanced Projects Office. At the second stage, a test demonstrator of an unmanned spacecraft will be developed.
The Defiant will be designed by Serco Inc.It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Defense decided to develop an unmanned ship from scratch, without using existing projects. The mass of the Defiant will be 210 tons. As part of the second stage of the No Manning Required Ship program, the company will create a demonstrator of the ship and conduct a series of tests before sending the drone to the sea.
