The US Department of Defense announced an increase in stockpiles and production volumes of GMLRS missiles.
What is known
Pentagon officials visited severalfactories that produce GMLRS missiles. William LaPlante, Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisitions, said the United States will continue to help Ukraine and is doing everything it can to speed up weapons production.
Already allocated for HIMARS and GMLRS replenishmentalmost $400 million. In addition, over the next few months, $200 million will be invested in expanding and accelerating production. The relevant contracts will be signed in autumn 2022 and early 2023.

Recall that GMLRS are managed227mm high-precision missiles for the M270 MLRS and M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. The launch range is from 15 km to 84 km. One container in the M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS holds six missiles.
