US sanctions forced Huawei to halve smartphone production

The United States imposed trade sanctions against Huawei back in May 2019. Much has changed since then: the company “got rid of”

from its subsidiary Honor, the head of state has changed in the United States. But the fact that the Chinese IT giant has problems remains unchanged.

So, for example, it became known that Huaweicut its production program by 60%. According to the Nikkei Asian Review, the company has already notified component suppliers that the manufacturer will reduce order volumes to 70-80 million smartphones in 2021. For comparison, in 2020, Huawei was able to ship about 190 million devices to store shelves.

Note that in connection with the latest US sanctions, the Chinese manufacturer is forced to focus on the release of 4G smartphones. The thing is that recent bans from the United States prohibit it from importing the components necessary to create 5G devices.
