User drilled microphone from Google game controller for fear of wiretapping

The author of the YouTube channel Heikki Juva has removed the built-in microphone from the proprietary Google Stadia controller. He did this so that

the service did not listen to it.

According to Habr, the controller for the cloudthe game service Google Stadia remained functional. In doing so, the user drilled through the circuit board of the device to get to the microphone. If it missed, it would have hit the lithium battery. It should be noted that the microphone is located on a separate board, so removing it does not affect the operation of the device.

It is clarified that you can turn off the microphone thatProvides support for the Google Assistant voice assistant, but not programmatically. In addition, Google itself tried to make the controller inseparable at home.

As a reminder, there is no Google Stadia in Russia yet.
