Users of older versions of Android will have their Google Accounts locked out

It is reported that the blocking could make it difficult for companies to use services and branded applications on older ones

devices, as well as cause other inconveniences.

As part of our ongoing efforts to ensureuser safety, Google will no longer allow sign-in on Android devices running Android 2.3.7 and earlier starting September 27, 2021. If you sign in to your device after September 27th, you may see an authorization error message when you try to use Google products and services such as Gmail, YouTube, and Maps.

Google's Official Statement

Experts point out that the impossibilitylogging into your Google account will make the user's work with the device much less comfortable. In addition to applications and services, users will not be able to create new Google accounts, perform a factory reset, change an account password, and more. This applies to devices with versions of Android that were released prior to December 2010.

Users of affected devices were advised by Google to update their software or purchase a newer device.

Those who cannot upgrade to newer versionsAndroid users can try logging into their Google accounts using a web browser, which will provide them with an alternative way to use Google services on unsupported Android devices.

The current stable version of Android – Android 11 – was released last year, on September 8 , 2020 .
