Valve will release a new Half-Life sooner than in 13 years, but with one condition

Valve will release Half-Life: Alyx at the end of March. Fans of the universe have been waiting for a new game in the series for 13 years, and now

The developers will try to please fans more often.

What is known

Chris Remo and Robin WalkerValve's Walker spoke with IGN about their post-Alyx plans. According to Remo, the studio staff enjoys working on the Half-Life series, and they hope that Alyx will be liked by players.

"Yes, I hope everyone enjoys the game andthey will want more. I can only echo what Chris said. We really enjoyed making this (Half-Life: Alyx - ed.) and it was a hell of a lot of fun to come back and do what hopefully everyone wants us to do,” Walker said.

Robin added that he hopes for the success of the game so that the team doesn’t have to spend another 13 years thinking about what the next Half-Life should be like:

“Yes, I hope that you will see something else from us much sooner than last time.”

The developers have not yet announced the treasured Half-Life3, but Chris and Robin's words are encouraging. Perhaps Valve is simply afraid to release the “wrong game” so as not to anger the fans. For several years now, rumors have been circulating online that individual teams in the studio are working on a new Half-Life, but prototypes continue to die on Valve’s desktop.
