'Vampire Slayer Kit' sold at auction for $15,600

Last week a UK resident bought a "vampire slayer kit" of the end at Hansons auction

19th century. It sold for almost $15,600 (£13,000). This is six times the starting price. Purchase offers were reported to have come from all over the world.

The wooden box is decorated on the outside with a setbrass crucifixes. They slide out to “unlock” the chest. Inside the box is a set of pistols, a brass powder flask, holy water, a Bible, a wooden hammer, a wooden stake, brass candlesticks and a rosary. There are also London police documents inside.

"The task of killing a vampire was extremely serious,and historical accounts suggest the need for certain techniques and tools,” said Charles Hanson, owner of Hansons Auctioneers, which sold the box. “The Luli believed that objects of religious significance, such as crucifixes and Bibles, warded off these monsters, which is why they are included in the set.”

The set once belonged to Lord Haley (1872–1969), a British aristocrat and administrator in colonial India.
