vivo APEX 2020: concept flagship without ports and buttons with on-screen camera, 60 W wireless charging and periscope camera

Vivo, as promised, announced its new concept smartphone today at an online event

APEX 2020.

What a beast

Like the previous model, the new product received a one-piececase without ports and buttons. Instead, touch panels are installed on the sides of the device that recognize touch sensitivity. APEX 2020 is charged using Super FlashCharge wireless technology with a power of 60 W. It can charge a 2000 mAh battery in 20 minutes. They do not say what kind of battery is installed in the smartphone.

On the front side of vivo APEX 2020 there are 6.45-inch FullView waterfall display with 120-degree curves and a resolution of 2330 x 1080 pixels. It has no holes or cutouts and no speaker. Sound is transmitted through the screen. The 16-megapixel front camera of the smartphone is hidden under a glass panel, which transmits light 6 times better than other parts of the display. There is also a fingerprint scanner installed underneath.

The new product also boasts a main camera.The main module has a resolution of 48 megapixels. It combines pixels and creates 12-megapixel photos. The module supports a card-like stabilization mechanism, which, according to the company, stabilizes the picture 200% better than OIS technology. The second module is a 16-megapixel periscope with optical zoom from 5x to 7.5x. It uses several moving and fixed lenses.

The device is powered by a 7-nanometer Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of ROM.

When to expect

Naturally, you shouldn’t wait for vivo APEX 2020 to go on sale. This is a concept that demonstrates the manufacturer's capabilities. Most likely, we will soon see some of its features in other vivo smartphones.
