Vivo ashamed of Qualcomm? How the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is labeled in the X90 Pro+

Vivo today introduced the X90 series, which marked the world premiere of two top-end chipsets at once

for new generation Android flagships. Thus, Vivo X90 and X90 Pro received MediaTek Dimensity 9200, and Vivo X90 Pro+ received Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm. True, in the case of the latter, the company does not say this directly, but indirectly. The designation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is not in the description of the device on the brand’s official website, nor in the comparison tables, nor even on the promotional poster with a full list of the main advantages of the gadget. Instead, “dragon” designated as “4nm new generation TSMC chip”. But with the description of MediaTek Dimensity 9200 everything is fine.

Why is that? It's hard to say for sure, but there are two most obvious options. For example, Vivo decided to build marketing around the Dimensity 9200 and its merits, while the Vivo X90 Pro + will only be a niche camera phone with small planned sales (even relative to the X90 Pro). Another version is also related to marketing, but in a slightly different vein: Vivo simply did not agree with Qualcomm on the solemn announcement of itself as the first with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Nevertheless, the fact remains. The first sales of the X90 Pro + will begin on December 6th.
