Vivo S5: the first Chinese smartphone on the market with a “leaky” OLED display

Vivo has announced a new smartphone with good features and an attractive design.


The new product was called Vivo S5.This is the first Chinese smartphone on the market with a “punch-hole” OLED display. Until this moment, only Samsung made such screens. Other manufacturers, in this case, installed IPS matrices in their devices.

The cutout was placed in the right corner and, according to the statementVivo, it has a diameter of only 2.95 mm. It has a 32 megapixel front camera installed. The device received a 6.44-inch display with Full HD+ resolution. It occupies 91.38% of the entire front panel area and supports a maximum brightness of 1200 nits.

On the back of the device you can see the camera withfour sensors, which are installed on the diamond-shaped module. The main sensor has a resolution of 48 megapixels. It is complemented by a wide-angle 8MP lens, a 5MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. There is no fingerprint scanner on the back of the Vivo S5. It was placed under the display of the device.

For the performance of the device, the Snapdragon 712 processor is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of ROM. The novelty also has a 4100 mAh battery with a USB-C port and fast 22.5-watt charging.
