    Equipment and design

vivo V25e comes in a gray cardboard box,the design of which is unified with the packaging of the rest of the V-series. The bundle is very rich: it includes a SIM needle, documentation, a USB cable, a 44W charger, a silicone case, a headphone adapter and even headphones! I can't help but sneer at the fact that for several years vivo has been putting headphones with a 3.5mm plug into the kit with phones without a 3.5mm jack (but with an adapter); according to rumors, the stocks of these accessories are running out, and soon the lugs will disappear from vivo boxes. But even without them, it will be a great kit, and now even more so.

The back of the V25e is made of soft-touchfrosted glass, but the ends, although they resemble metal in appearance, are made of plastic. The flat sidewalls of the device, not chopped in front and behind, made it as uncomfortable as possible in terms of grip; such a design works well for compact smartphones, but the V25e is too big to be styled like this. In general, the ergonomics of the smartphone is so-so.

But he looks, we must pay tribute, Otpad.Especially in the light version, which is made of photochromic glass that changes color from yellow to orange. And the dark version with a rhombic pattern looks boring. I also note that frosted glass is a very practical material, fingerprints and dirt do not accumulate on it, it is also difficult to scratch it.

The arrangement of elements on the case is quitestandard: comboslot, microphone, Type-C and speaker at the bottom, buttons on the right, microphone at the top. The fingerprint scanner is built under the screen; works accurately, but not very fast. Vibro is normal (not taptic), speakers are mono. Saved, alas.

But they didn't save on the screen.6.44" panel with a resolution of 2404x1080 pixels is made using AMOLED technology and supportsrefresh rate up to 90 Hz.There are three modes - 60, auto, 90; Auto is almost synonymous with 60, so I recommend putting 90.The touch is also overclocked – 180 Hz, but only in games (in other scenarios 120 Hz, and fromAnd in general, the display is very pleasant: bright, juicy, contrasting. One of the strengths of the phone.

    Software

vivo V25e is based on Android 12 with proprietaryFuntouch OS 12 firmware. The main model of the series, V25, has already been updated to Android 13, many other vivo too, so there may soon be a holiday on the V25e street. Perhaps by the time you are reading this review, it has already happened. However, I used Android 13 on vivo V25 and can not say that I felt the difference. So even if it hasn't happened yet, don't worry too much.

Well, in general, Funtouch OS is not bad, quiteusable firmware, perfectly adapted to Russian realities. Good localization, Google services out of the box and all that. Although this is generally not surprising, phones are officially sold here.

      Cameras

vivo V25e received a triple camera, consisting ofwhich, unfortunately, has two 2-megapixel plugs. But the main camera is a 64-megapixel Samsung GW3 sensor, which has managed to stay in many smartphones of a higher level: Red Magic 7, Meizu 18X, Black Shark 4S Pro; wide and telephoto Axon 30 Ultra - also GW3. In addition, the camera is equipped with optical stabilization, which sounds promising in the context of video shooting and night photos. We look:

I expected that the strong point of the camera would benight photos, but it turned out the other way around. I really liked the daytime shots on the V25e: excellent color reproduction without embellishment or graying, high detail, minimum noise. But the phone does not cope with the lack of light, and the night mode with its slow shutter speed does not really help (although it is certainly better with it than without it). But if you photograph more during the day than at night, then this will not be a problem for you.

Video can be written in 1080p@60fps, frontcamera - in 1080p@30fps. OIS, as expected, makes night videos much more interesting, but I would still like to see 4K in a mid-range smartphone. Well, or at least 1440p if 4K support is limited by the chipset.

Let's go back to the front camera. It is based on the Samsung GD2 sensor; the resolution is 32 megapixels. As always with vivo, selfies are of excellent quality. True, once I encountered a marriage: a frame was preserved without noise reduction processing. It weighs a lot and looks very strange. But this is only one shot of all that I took on the front camera of this phone.

      Performance and tests

The hardware basis of the vivo V25e is an excellent mid-range MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. This is the "flagship" of MediaTek's 4G series, its most advanced chip without support for fifth-generation communication networks. It comes with a large amount of memory: 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. If it's not enough, instead of a second nano-SIM card, you can insert a microSD and get even more memory. Before discussing the gaming capabilities of the smartphone, let's take a look at its graphs in benchmarks.

      normal mode

In fact, there is no throttling - a slight drop inThe CPU at the end of the throttling test doesn't count at all. So in games you can count on stable performance. And the only question is whether it will be stably low or stably high. I answer: of course, you don’t need to rely on the level of flagships, but in general the phone shows itself very well. In Genshin Impact, you can run great at medium settings, and even at high fps it's not so bad. Other top titles may also need to reduce the graphics, and in less voracious games, this will not be necessary either.

      Game Mode

For the sake of a thin case in vivo V25e a littlesacrificed the battery: the battery capacity is 4500 mAh. Autonomy, however, is still good. In an hour of showing a video, the device was discharged by only 5%, in an hour in the game - by 10%, in an hour of browsing - by 12%. The test was run at maximum brightness and at 90Hz, which explains why the browser with a permanently white background proved to be more difficult for the phone than SuperTuxKart at maximum settings, where it averaged just under 60 fps.

Charging fast: 44W.A full charge from zero to a hundred took me 70 minutes, and the phone charges a quarter in 16 minutes and half in half an hour. The charging rate almost does not change until reaching the 90% mark, and only then slows down to save the battery from overcharging. Given the good autonomy, the phone can be charged for a full day in just half an hour; this is a decent result for this price segment.

        Conclusions

        T1, V25e, V25, V25 Pro

vivo V25e has strengths. It's beautiful, it charges fast, it takes good photos, it runs games well. But there are also weak points: no stereo, no taps, no wide, no 2K / 4K in video, ergonomics leave much to be desired. The market is full of much more balanced smartphones in this price category, but if you are attracted to exactly what the vivo V25e boasts, you can consider buying it.
