Vivo X Fold 2 is already in the works and could get a companion: details

Chinese OPPO and Vivo, who do not want to concede in any way to the market leader Samsung, are actively developing the foldable segment

smartphones.Just yesterday, the OPPO Find N2 and N2 Flip premiered, designed to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4. And although Vivo already has the recently released Vivo X Fold+ (which we are actively preparing a review for), the company is working hard on the next generation of folding phones. We say in the plural because the Vivo X Flip, the brand’s first vertical clamshell, is expected to be paired with the upcoming Fold model. According to new data from insider Digital Chat Station, Vivo intends to make the device relatively inexpensive, for which it will lose the under-screen finger scanner in favor of one built into the button.

The second aspect of savings will be the previously mentionedSnapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset instead of the newfangled 8 Gen 2. But they won’t save on the external screen: according to the scheme proposed by the source, the device will receive a large display across the entire width of the case, reminiscent of the one received yesterday by OPPO Find N2 Flip. The design of the device will retain family traits by offering a round camera module. Finally, the leaker notes a high chance of launching the Vivo X Flip at the same time as the Vivo X Fold 2, which the company may release closer to the anniversary of the original Vivo X Fold (April) with better hardware, led by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
