German automotive giant Volkswagen has unveiled a prototype air taxi V.MO.

The aircraft is being developed in China at the local division of the German concern. The first prototype is called Flying Tiger. It has a length of 11.2 m and a wingspan of 10.6 m.

The taxi can take off and land vertically.For this, it was equipped with eight screws, i.e. we are dealing with an octocopter. Two more propellers provide horizontal flight V.MO. The screws are driven by electric motors.

Testing of electric taxis will begin inend of 2022. The company plans to collect the data needed to create the final prototype of an air taxi, the announcement of which is expected in 2023, as part of the tests.

The serial version of V.MO will be designed for four passengers with luggage. The power reserve will be 200 km. One of the features of the air taxi will be working offline.
