Wait: Huawei announced the price and start date of sales of the folding Mate X smartphone

Huawei showed its foldable smartphone Mate X back in February at MWC 2019, but decided not to rush

with the release of the device due to problems with the Samsung Galaxy Fold. And now, almost eight months later, the manufacturer finally announced the start date for sales of the new product.

Price and when to wait

The device received two versions.The junior Mate X model was equipped with last year’s flagship Kirin 980 chipset with the Balong 5000 5G modem. It will go on sale on November 15 with a price tag of $2,400. The older one, in turn, received a more powerful Kirin 990 processor. This smartphone model will hit the market under the name Mate Xs and will appear only in March 2020. Its price tag has not yet been announced.

To recap, the Mate X has a foldable 8-inchOLED screen with a resolution of 2480x2200 pixels. When folded, it forms two displays: a 6.6-inch (2480x1148p) on the front of the device and a 6.38-inch (2480x1148p) on the back.

The device was equipped with a triple camera of 40 MP +16 MP + 8 MP, as well as 8 GB RAM and 512 GB ROM. The new product runs on Android 9 Pie with the EMUI 9.1 shell. In the near future, the company plans to update the device to Android 10. The Mate X is powered by a 4500 mAh battery, which supports fast 55-watt charging (85% in 30 minutes).
