Wargaming has released the World of Tanks 1.13 update: reworked the artillery gameplay, added a new game mode and much more

Wargaming has announced a major update to World of Tanks.

What's new

The new version of the game was released under

number 1.13.The first thing that catches your eye is the redesigned artillery gameplay. The developers have added notifications to players about artillery shells, as well as brighter tracers and visualization of artillery hits on the minimap using markers (they are displayed for 10 seconds).

Operators of self-propelled guns (self-propelled artilleryinstallations) also received a couple of innovations. Now they will have three types of projectiles at their disposal. Each has its own tactical functions, flight speed, armor penetration and trajectory shape. Two of them do not provide a stun effect when hit. This significantly reduces the total time that “tankers” spend in combat while stunned. Also in the game, the interface of artillery shells has changed and the “Intuition” perk has been redesigned. Now it will take less time to change the type of projectile on a vehicle of any class.

Also in update 1.13, it is worth noting the reworked mechanics of damage from high-explosive shells, the “Reconnaissance in Combat” mode and a slightly changed interface. By the way, Season 5 of the “Battle Pass” has started in World of Tanks 1.13.

World of Tanks developers have reworked the gameplay of artillery

In update 1.13, players will find many changes: redesigned land mines, a new game mode, Season V of the Battle Pass, rebalance of the Minsk map. and much more

June 23, 2021 — World of Tanks receivedupdate 1.13, one of the largest in its recent history. It brought to the game redesigned artillery and countermeasures, modified mechanics of high-explosive shells, a new mode and interface improvements. Season 5 of the “Battle Pass” is also starting.

A change that everyone will immediately notice withoutexceptions players, — the emergence of new opportunities to combat the class of vehicles, because of which shells sometimes fall at you from the sky. Since its debut in World of Tanks, artillery has gone through many improvements. The evolution of self-propelled guns and the needs of game balance made it necessary to introduce the “Sound Reconnaissance” commander perk in update 1.13. (notifying the player about an artillery shell on approach), brighter shell tracers (which can be used to more accurately understand the location of the artillery shell) and visualization of artillery hits on the mini-map (using markers that are displayed for 10 seconds).

"Artillerymen" (self-propelled gun operators) toowill not be left out. Now they will have three types of projectiles at their disposal, each with its own tactical functions, flight speed, armor penetration and trajectory shape. Two of them do not provide a stun effect when hit, which significantly reduces the total time that “tankers” spend carried out in battle in a stunned state. The interface of artillery shells will change, and the “Intuition” perk will change. has been redesigned (and now it will take much less time to change the type of projectile on a vehicle of any class).

Update 1.13 will also change the damage mechanics of HE shells. The main advantage of this innovation will be appreciated by heavily armored tanks. Landmines will inflict much less damage to them in the frontal projection. Also, high-explosive shells will be able to penetrate protective screens, vehicle suspension elements and small destructible objects on maps (for example, fences).

The list of innovations and changes does not include all of thisis exhausted. It also includes: the “Reconnaissance in Combat” mode, in which players will be able to take part in battles on new maps that are in the final stages of development; rebalancing the characteristics of a large group of award and premium cars; changes to the interface, which once again incorporates the functionality of several popular mods. The game will begin the V season of the “Battle Pass”, which will captivate “tankers” awards and a brilliantly twisted plot. The “Minsk” map, based on the center of the hometown of World of Tanks, will change: a golden autumn will come on it, earthworks will begin to complicate the relief, and the Svisloch River will become considerably shallower.
