It all started six years ago - then Maurizio Calorio and Silvia Duca began dating. Then they had a daughter. And on the eve of the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple decided to legalize their relationship and get married.
But due to quarantine, the ceremony was temporarily “frozen”.
Then the plans were interrupted by an even more terrible situation.- Maurizio suffered a cardiac arrest, after which the only way for him to breathe was through the use of a ventilator. A heart transplant could correct the situation, but there was no suitable organ.
As a result, the lovers decided to get married insuch a position. And, suddenly, just a couple of hours after they became legal husband and wife, the newlyweds were informed that a suitable donor heart had appeared in Naples.
Of course, he was promptly taken to Turin on a special flight and on the same night the man underwent a seven-hour transplant operation.
Maurizio is currently under medical supervision.
