We're going to miss: Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan leaves Blizzard

A message from Jeff Kaplan, director of Overwatch, appeared on the Blizzard blog, in which he announced his departure from

company after 19 years of operation.

What is known

Blizzard Entertainment is now in operationover Overwatch 2, but a different person will now take the place of director - Aaron Keller, the former Assistant Director of Overwatch. He said that the process of creating the second part of the game is going well and promised to share the latest news soon. Kaplan himself said about his departure:

“I am leaving Blizzard Entertainment after 19wonderful years. It has been a true honor to create entire worlds and characters for such an incredible audience. I want to express my deep gratitude to everyone at Blizzard who has supported our games, our teams, and our players. But I would especially like to thank the developers who shared this incredible journey with me. Never accept the world as it seems. Always try to see him as he could become."

Jeff did not mention the reason for this decision or what.now there will be Overwatch 2, unknown, but let’s hope that it won’t be worse than the first. Jeff Kaplan joined Blizzard back in 2002 and began his career at the company with QA testing for Warcraft III and developing PvE elements for World of Warcraft. In 2009, he moved to a new project called Titan, which was closed after 5 years and used as a template for Overwatch.
