Allied countries promised to transfer a total of 321 heavy tanks to Ukraine. This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine
What to expect
The ambassador did not specify which countries he was talking about.According to official information, the UK will provide Challenger 2 tanks, the USA - Abrams, Poland - Leopard 2 and PT-91 Twardy. Recently, Germany approved the supply of Leopard 2 to Ukraine and allowed the re-export of tanks to partners, therefore, according to media estimates, European countries alone will transfer about 80 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
“As for delivery times, they varyin each specific case. Some need to carry out maintenance, others are solving logistics issues, others are waiting to receive other models in order to give away the ones they give,” Ambassador Omelchenko explained.
According to him, it is important that Ukraine receives these tanks as quickly as possible: “If you wait until August or September, it will be too late.”
