The epidemiologist noted that talking about the endpandemic is still premature. “Even though the number of new coronavirus cases is declining, this does not mean that the virus is in retreat. Vaccination also plays a role, and the fact that many have already been ill, but such simple safety measures as wearing masks also work, and if they are stopped, the protective barrier will naturally fall. In this case, there may be not only a slowdown in the rate of decline in the number of new cases, but even a new rise in incidence,” the specialist explained.
The expert also warned that there are more people with coronavirus, and a mutation can occur in the body of any of them. And it can provoke the emergence of a new strain.
