Other predictions for 2050 include kitchens that will run almost entirely without water and washing machines that will use high-tech pellets to grind up dirt.
The futurologist's forecast partly coincides with the opinionordinary people. A survey of 2,000 people found that 15% believe smart self-filling refrigerators will be the most useful technology in the coming decades. In addition, one in five is sure that by 2050 robots will massively help people around the house.
