WhatsApp says goodbye to Windows Phone, iOS 8 and older versions of Android

WhatsApp messenger developers report termination of application support on devices with old

operating system versions.

Who will be disconnected

So, from today, support for the Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile platforms has been discontinued.

And from February 1, they drop out of the support listAndroid 2.3.7 and later, as well as iOS 8 and later. Of course, WhatsApp will continue to work on these devices, but the application will not receive updates, so it may not work correctly.

“Since we are no longer actively developing for these operating systems, some functions may stop working at any time,” they warn on the support page.

The company recommends updating and using the messenger on:

  • Android 4.0.3 and later;
  • iPhone with iOS 9 or later;
  • Some phones with KaiOS 2.5.1 or later, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
