It turned out that people with blood types A, B, AB (II, III, IV) are more likely to develop coronary heart disease. And the highest risk of developing cardiovascular disease in people with blood type AB (IV).

During the study, experts studied data on89,550 adults followed for 20 years. Participants with blood type AB were 23 percent more likely to develop heart disease. At the same time, for people with blood group B (III) this figure was 11 percent, for people with blood group A (II) – 5 percent.

All results were published in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology.
