An American physics teacher used digitized data from the World Athletics Championships in
Professor Scott Lee from the UniversityToledo challenged its students to determine who would win a hypothetical 100m race between record holder Usain Bolt and the theropod Dilophosaurus wetherilli. The professor himself relied on data. And they showed the unconditional victory of man. Usain Bolt would have won by two seconds.
Bolt's speed tends to a value, corresponding to the maximum speed - 12.08 ± 0.04 meters per second. But the dinosaur's maximum speed was estimated at 10.5 meters per second. Plus, Bolt has an advantage in initial acceleration.
