Scientists have found that when a person experiences depressive symptoms, it can easily make them worse.
The researchers noted that some people have thoughts that are difficult to get rid of. These thoughts can quickly lead the person to sink into a self-reinforcing negative pattern.
About 1,200 people participated in the new surveyaged 16 to 20 years. It is noted that women scored higher on all parameters, including symptoms of depression. They also scored higher on negative reflections about their own thoughts. Such thoughts, for example, can lead a person to believe that something is wrong with him and make him think that bad thoughts are uncontrollable.
Scientists believe that metacognitive therapy can help treat depression. It aims to eliminate negative thoughts about one's own thoughts.
