In his opinion, Russia has a largepotential than Western countries. Moreover, this can be done at low prices compared to the West. Lakontsev noted that now the leaders of 5G networks are not the United States, but China and South Korea, while "Russia and India have deployed some of the best mobile networks in the world in terms of price and quality."
Prices for next generation networks will inevitablygrow, “base stations and smartphones will become more expensive, the necessary investment in network construction will increase - due to greater density, trunk lines will require power, electricity bills and other operating costs will increase.” In this case, it will be necessary to form a very expensive orbital constellation. Lakontsev also noted that there is no hurry, "progress must be systematic and constant."
At the same time, the United States and Europe can no longer boastmodern network infrastructure: “European and American infrastructure is outdated, inefficient and costly for users and operators.” Moreover, the cost of tariffs is 10 times more expensive than in Russia and Asia.
“It is important not to overpay for the introduction of 6G networks,it is necessary to approach them fully prepared, with its own full-fledged research and production ecosystem, worked out on 4G and 5G, with a plan for clearing the radio frequency spectrum that is already ready and being implemented. All this can really be done in 10 years, ”Dmitry Lakontsev emphasized.
