Winners of The Game Awards 2019: named the best games of the year

The Game Awards 2019 has successfully passed away. Not only loud announcements were heard on the event stage, but also the winners

The prize for “Best Game of 2019” went to Sekiro:Shadows Die Twice. The game was released on March 22, 2019, becoming the next “Souls-like” project from From Software. At the same time, the game was distinguished from Dark Souls by a more dynamic combat system and setting. Critics from Metacritic gave the project a score of 90, while players rated From Software's efforts at 8.0.

Note that Sekiro also took home the prize in the “Best Adventure Game” category.

The developers of Disco Elysium took away three prizes at once.The project received awards for “Best Independent Game”, “Best RPG”, and also a prize for “Best Story”. As was the case with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the game was well received by both critics and gamers. It is noteworthy that in Disco Elysium the gameplay is built around dialogues, and there are no battles at all in the usual sense.
