Word finally got a keyboard shortcut to paste text without formatting

It happened! Microsoft has finally added a special shortcut to Word to insert text without any

formatting. This uses the same keyboard shortcut that already exists in many other programs – Ctrl + Shift + V. According to Microsoft's Jennifer Gentleman, the feature is currently available in beta for both Windows and Mac.

Word has long let you remove formattingfrom whatever you've pasted after the fact, with the little ribbon that appears and gives you the option to keep the original formatting, match your document's formatting, or just use the plaintext.

In addition to Word, Microsoft wants to make a featureavailable throughout the system through the Power Toys program, which adds many great features to Windows. If you're on a Mac, a program like Pure Paste can also replicate this feature, though it specifically makes the standard Command + V shortcut paste plain text, so pasting with formatting requires an extra step.
