As part of PlayStation Indies, Team 17 studio announced Worms Rumble, a real-time shooter based in the “Worms” universe.
What is known
The team announced the new project back in March with a short teaser. Now gamers have been presented with a gameplay trailer telling about the game’s features.
In honor of the 25th anniversary of the series, the developers decidedmake a project unique to the franchise. That's why Worms Rumble became a battle royale shooter for 32 worms. The developers have provided a solo mode, where everyone fights for themselves, as well as a team mode, where squads of three enter the battle. The latter also works with revival, so allies can bring a fallen worm back into the battle.

If battle royale is not your thing, then you can take a look at team deathmatch, where 32 worms also fight. Only now the main goal is to score more points than the opposing team.
Since the game speed has increased,then the developers had to refine the movement mechanics. Now worms crawl faster, and can also roll and jump off walls. Each such action takes away a supply of stamina, which is replenished over time.
The game is scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4,PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) in 2020, and the developers promise cross-play between platforms. On July 15, Team17 will hold a beta test for PC users, which you can sign up for on the official website.
