DxOMark got to last year’s Sony Xperia XZ3 flagship released in the fall - and were disappointed
Recall the flagship got a 19 megapixelsingle main Motion Eye camera with f / 2.0 optics, electronic stabilization, 4K format support and Full HD high-speed video at 960 frames per second.
Advantages and disadvantages
In the photo mode in DxOMark noted accurateautofocus, very good textures and a nice display of colors. There were more minuses: slow autofocus, limited dynamic range in any conditions, poor photo quality in poor light conditions, artifacts, lack of bokeh effect, excessive saturation.
In video mode, the camera shows the exactautofocus, lack of "noise" and good stabilization. Of the minuses - the instability of colors, slow autofocus, lack of detail in low light and limited dynamic range in bright light.
As a result, for the photo Sony Xperia XZ3 received 76points, for video - 85. On average, this is 79 points for the camera. This is much worse than modern flagships, which are gaining more than 100 points, and even devices of the middle segment. For example, the performance is better with the iPhone 7, Asus Zenfone 5 and even with the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, released in 2017.
It turns out that Sony, which manufactures sensors for competitors' flagship cameras, like a shoemaker without shoes, grazes the rear.
