Xiaomi left the Android One program: the announcement of Xiaomi Mi A4 is not worth waiting for

Xiaomi will no longer release smartphones running a “pure” version of the Android OS.

What is known

According to the German publication SmartDroid,With a link to an official source, the Chinese manufacturer has withdrawn from the Android One program. This means it’s definitely not worth waiting for the release of the Xiaomi Mi A4 smartphone (the successor to the Mi A3). Why the company took such a step is unknown. Presumably it's all about software support. Lately, Xiaomi has had a lot of trouble updating these devices. The firmware came out with a lot of errors. They were often detained and re-released.

Android One is owned by Google.It was announced in 2014 so that third-party companies could release smartphones on “pure” Android with good performance and timely updates. Currently, among the major manufacturers, only HMD Global produces such devices.
