Xiaomi promises that both flagships will receivesecurity patches for four years, i.e. until 2026. Although it is likely that towards the end of the life cycle, the company will release updates not monthly, but only once a quarter or even once every six months. But this is standard practice for many manufacturers.
But the big news regarding updatesis that Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro will receive three major operating system updates. The flagships went on sale with Android 12, which means they will get Android 13, Android 14, and even Android 15 in the future.

How many versions of the proprietary MIUI shell will be released for them, so far the company has not specified. But smartphones will have to receive their three updates, i.e. with MIUI 16 inclusive.
