After half a year of various rumors and leaks, Xiaomi and Leica announced a partnership.

The corresponding press release appeared on the official website of the Chinese manufacturer. The companies will collaborate on mobile photography.
"Xiaomi focuses on creating the ultimateuser experience and have always hoped to make the most of smartphone photography. Xiaomi and Leica agree with each other's aspirations and ideas and value each other's strengths and industries. This collaboration will give a strong boost to Xiaomi's image strategy." said Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group.
Unfortunately, there are no details yet about the first joint smartphone. It is only known that it will be shown in July. If rumors are to be believed, it will be the flagship Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

Let's remember that since 2019 Leica has collaboratedwith Huawei. The result of this collaboration was excellent camera phones that topped the DxOMark rating. But due to US sanctions and the crisis associated with them, Huawei and Leica ceased to be partners.
