Xiaomi has a new president: a big reshuffle of top management

This week, the authoritative Financial Times reported on the upcoming major changes in the management of Xiaomi,

presumably related to falling sales.Today the information was officially confirmed: Lu Weibing, known to many as the head of the Redmi sub-brand, has been appointed the new president of the company as of December 30, 2022. From now on, his area of responsibility includes the company's Chinese and international business, as well as the departments of smartphones, household appliances and ecology.

Former Wang XiangXiaoyan, who joined Xiaomi in 2019, will not leave the company, but will become its vice president. However, both of them will continue to report to Xiaomi co-founder Lei Jun. But the other two co-founders Qu Heng (Qu Heng) and Wang Xiaoyan (Wang Xiaoyan), will depart from the leadership of the company, although they will continue to work on the Partners Committee, which is responsible for the strategic development of the company. Whether these rearrangements will affect the state of affairs in the company - we will find out only after some long time.
