Xiaomi has added support for Google Lens to the MIUI shell camera.

Google announced last year at Google I/O that it would allow OEMs to add Google Lens to

stock camera apps. Now there is information that the function has started working on some Xiaomi smartphones.

What is known

Chinese manufacturer has released a newbeta version of MIUI firmware, which integrated Google Lens into the camera application. So far, the new feature is only available for Pocophone F1, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Y2. Other Xiaomi smartphones will receive it a little later.

What it is

Google Lens is a featurewhich can identify objects using a smartphone camera by finding information about them on the web. For example, attractions, books, music albums, signs (giving out reviews from visitors about this establishment), flowers, food, animals, shades, etc. You can also use it to copy text from document photos and scan barcodes.
