Xiaomi Mi 8 Review

The design of the Xiaomi Mi 8 is undoubtedly modeled on the look of the iPhone X. The same materials are used as not the Mi 8

has the same camera arrangement. These smartphones differ primarily in size – Mi 8 is much bigger. This is mainly due to the size of the display itself – in Mi 8 it has 6.21 inches. Fortunately, the weight was limited to a permissible level of 175. In comparison, the iPhone X, with a noticeably smaller 5.8-inch screen, weighs only a gram less. The Mi 8 looks really great and is very well made.

The fingerprint scanner is on the backbody parts. This means that when the phone is on a desk or in a car holder, unlocking it is more difficult than usual. At the moment, our software does not have a face unlock function,
.It is important, however, that the reader does not make a mistake with the camera lens, as in the latest version of Samsung. It's in a great place on the Mi 8 and works just as well. The monaural speaker is located at the bottom of the case. Has relatively good quality and good volume. Next to the speaker is a modern USB-C connector. The Mi 8 does not support memory cards, but is a dual-SIM smartphone where both cards can use LTE.

The biggest disadvantage of housing is that it is not waterproof, at least there is no official information on this issue.

Display – rating 5
The screen in Mi 8 is really big becauseit is as much as 6.21 inches. The manufacturer was not tempted by crazy resolutions and used an FHD+ 2248 x 1080 matrix, which gives us a pixel density of 402 PPI. This is not much compared to the most powerful Samsung in this regard, but thanks to this Xiaomi will work much longer without contact with a socket. The display supports the Always On display service. The screen has excellent viewing angles and very pleasant colors (DCI-P3 color gamut). In the evening we can activate the blue reading mode. The menu also includes color settings (standard, warm or cool) and contrast controls (automatic, high, standard). Our favorite YouTuber, Mobzilla, complains about the Mi 8 on a very high note. Indeed, it is gigantic, which significantly reduces the display space of the notification panel. There's so little space that you don't even know how many percent of the battery is left. This second inability can be really annoying in everyday use.

Processor / Memory / Technical Parameters
Already at the beginning of the description of the technical data of Mi 8It should be noted that this is currently one of the fastest Android smartphones in the world. Moreover, until now most tests – The benchmarks are run on beta versions of the software, which means the Mi 8 could speed up soon. Already selected copies of Xiaomi Mi 8 exceed the magic 300,000 points in AnTuTu. You can read the latest ranking here

For example, Explorer already has 8 GB of RAM and an on-screen fingerprint scanner.

System – rating?
As for the system, the situation with Mi 8 is very complicated.

We have to wait for the update, which shouldappear at any time. It should be noted, however, that the MIUI 9.5 version – This is an excellent, beautiful, fast and stable overlay. Xiaomi undoubtedly wants Android to be very similar to iOS. This is most evidenced by the gestures that can be included in the menu. At that time, even long-time owners of iPhone smartphones will feel almost at home.
