YouTube for Android and iOS gets a major update: new gestures, video chapter list in a separate window, and more

Google has announced a major update to the YouTube app for Android and iOS devices.

The changes affected the page with the video.The developers have moved some of the controls to the top of the player. This applies to the button to turn on subtitles, as well as autoplay of recommended videos. The app also added support for two control gestures: swipe up and swipe down. The first opens the video in full screen, and the second minimizes it.

Also worth noting in the update are video chapters with a separate window and tips. For example, YouTube will tell you when you can turn your phone to landscape mode or play a video in VR.
