YouTube launches YouTube Emotes – new emotes that are similar to those on Twitch

YouTube begins rolling out a new update – new emotions, similar to how it is done in Twitch. They

called YouTube Emotes. They can be used in comments, or during live chats, although the platform previously allowed individual streamers to offer their own reactions and emotions. The starting set of emotes is focused on the game theme, but there will be more over time.

If you received the update, then when you openYouTube emotes list, you will see a new menu for selecting YouTube emotes, which will appear immediately below the channel emotes. Similar to Twitch's system-wide default emotes, YouTube emotes also have special autofill names, so if you quickly type, for example, “:cat-orange-whistling:”, the comment will automatically fill in with an orange cat whistling.
